Eric Shragge is a retired principal of the School of Community and Public Affairs Concordia University. He was a co-founder of the Immigrant Workers Centre in Montreal. He, Jason Prince and Mostafa Henaway co-edited Montréal—A Citizen’s Guide to City Politics.

Jim Silver is Professor Emeritus at the University of Winnipeg. One of three co-founders of the CCPA-Manitoba 25 years ago in 1997, he has written extensively on poverty and poverty-related matters, including housing and education.

Thorben Wieditz is an urban geographer and campaigner who works at the intersection of labour, community and big tech, and is one of the organizers of the Ridefair Coalition.

Jewelles Smith (she/her), PhD(c) is the Communication and Government Relations Coordinator for the Council of Canadians with Disabilities, and is a PhD candidate at UBC Okanagan. She resides in BC with her service dog, DaVinci.

Charles Smith is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at St. Thomas More College, University of Saskatchewan.

Julia Smith is a researcher with the Pacific Institute on Pathogens, Pandemics and Society (PIPPS) and the Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University. Julia leads PIPPS’ Health and Social Inequities Theme, which aims to identify health and social inequities associated with infectious disease events and assist in identifying promising policy approaches to prevent or reduce risk of social and economic inequities in future pandemics.

Steven Staples is on the Member’s Council of the CCPA, and is author of, “Pilot Error: Why the F-35 stealth fighter is wrong for Canada.”

Sheila Stevens taught elementary school for 25 years: K-8 vocal music and regular primary grades for the TCDSB in Toronto; grades 2-6 ETFI math, science and English, and regular grades 4 and 5 for the OCDSB in Ottawa. In her retirement, she has completed an MEd in Societies, Cultures and Languages and hopes to work in teacher education in the future.
