Howard A. Doughty has been teaching in the social sciences at Seneca College for 54 years. He was the founding editor of The College Quarterly and long-time book review editor of The Innovation Journal, and has written and published extensively on the political economy of higher education. He is also a community organizer and veteran trade union activist in OPSEU.

Zainab Almukhtar holds a PhD degree in Managements Science, Saint Mary’s University, Halifax, Canada is an Assistant Professor at Cape Breton University and a Research Associate at the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives. Zainab also holds a master’s degree in technology Entrepreneurship and Innovation and a Bachelor and a Master in Control System Engineering. Main research areas are healthcare analytics and management, operations research, healthcare policies, immigration policies and diversity. Zainab is also a member of several non-for-profit organisations and is highly interested in working to improve the well-being of communities.

Angele Alook (she/her) is an Assistant Professor in the School of Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies at York University. She is a proud member of Bigstone Cree Nation in Treaty 8 territory, where she has carried out research on issues of Sociology of family and work, resource extraction, school-to-work transitions, Indigenous identity and seeking the good life (miyo-pimatisiwin) in work-life balance. Her current research examines a just transition away from fossil fuels. She is an active member of the labour movement and a former labour researcher in the movement.

Hugh Armstrong, PhD, is a Distinguished Research Professor and Professor Emeritus of Social Work and Political Economy at Carleton University.
