No time to lose:

Canada's federal government has committed to working towards achieving the goals set out in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development both at home and abroad.¹ Yet the scale and scope of investments to date continue to fall considerably short of SDG targets. Implementing the 2030 Agenda requires concrete action and political leadership that challenges fundamental economic inequalities and the short-term thinking that threatens the environment and future generations. The policy and program alternatives outlined below in the areas of taxation, public services, and the environment better position us to tackle these challenges head on.
